Bertha V. Bernard, 85, of Nasonville, died Jan. 10, 2010 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Harrisville RI, a daughter of the late Hosanna & Victoria (Durand) Bernard.
Bertha worked in area textiles. She was a lifelong Burrillville resident.
She is survived by her son George Bernard and his wife Michelle of Nasonville, grandchildren Daniel and Victoria, brother Leo “Paul” Bernard, of Mohegan, sisters, Esther Jordan of South Carolina, Laura Martineau of Warwick, sister in law Lillian Bernard-Griffith and many nieces and nephews..
She was the sister of the late Albert and Hosanna Bernard Jr., Blanche Tardie and Simone Allard.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., No. Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Theresa’s Church Dion Dr. Nasonville. Burial will follow in St. Theresa’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VNS of Greater RI. 6 Blackstone Valley Place in Lincoln RI 02865. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7pm.
