Leo P. Sweeney Jr.
Leo P. Sweeney Jr. resident of Chepachet passed away Jan. 30, 2010 at U Mass Medical Center in Worcester MA.
Born in Providence RI, son of Leo P. Sweeney Sr. of Harrisville RI, and Clara “Kit” (Maziarz) Sweeney of Ellenton FL.

Leo was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Survivors include his loving daughter Kristal Szocik of Chepachet RI, sister, Laurie Brown and her husband Mike of Norfolk MA, maternal grandmother Peggy Maziarz of Chepachet RI, nieces, Rebecca and Jessica Brown and his loving companion Kim Anderson and his brothers from another mother Scott Carter, Mike Taylor, Rich Howard and Steve Melzmuf. And loving kidney donator Jennifer Salvato

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Paul and Yvonne Sweeney, and maternal grandfather, John Maziarz.

A gathering will be held Saturday at 1pm at the Fellowship Hall of the Chepachet Union Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or to Kristal Szocik C/O of the Brown Funeral Home 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland RI 02858.

Arthur Genova Jr February 10 2010 I was first on the scene after Mr. Sweeney's accident! I helped stabilize him, and the emts handed me a pair of scissors to cut off his leather vest and sweatshirt, etc!

I have been praying every day for his survival, and am very saddened by his passing!

May the Lord Jesus Christ receive you immortal soul!
