Robert
G. Brown, Jr. joined the family business in 1972, graduated Burrillville
High School in 1973 and the New England Institute of Anatomy in Boston
in 1974. A member of the Burrillville Lions, Good Sam Club, Wallum
Lake Rod and Gun Club, the NRA, and also a member of the Family Motor
Coach Association. Robert and his father worked together for 24 years
until Robert, Sr. lost his life, after saving two
people from a rip tide, in Melbourne Beach, Florida in
October 1996, a rescue for which he was posthumously
awarded the prestigious Carnegie Medal. |

John Lalumiere graduated Woonsocket High in 1982.
Served his apprenticeship at the Fournier and Fournier Funeral
Homes, Inc. that same year. He graduated from the New
England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston
in 1985 at which he was awarded the "McHoul Family
Award. An award recieved for the student overcoming the
most adversity while in attendance at the institute. He
passed his National Board and his practical exam, and
recieved his license later that same year. He worked as a
funeral director and embalmer in Woonsocket 18 years
before joining Brown Funeral Homes, Inc. in 1999. He
is an active member in the Elks Lodge #850,
the Par-x and is an associate member
of the Amvets Post 7, all in Woonsocket. |
