Mr. Gerald Laplante, 76, of Burrillville and formerly of Woonsocket, died Thursday at Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag after fighting a long battle with Dementia .He was the beloved husband of 48 years to the late Simone A. (Cote ) Laplante. Born September 5, 1941, in Woonsocket. He was a son of the late Laurier & Gertrude (Pelland) Laplante. He was a lifelong city resident of Woonsocket until moving to Pascoag 14 years ago. Gerry worked for the former Allied Container Corp. in Dedham, MA for 24 years, then he worked for Shaw's Supermarket in Woonsocket for several years before his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and was a life long member of the Par X Club, where he loved cooking and attending many of the Par X club breakfasts and was a member of the Italian Workingmen's Club. While living at Pine Grove Jerry was the Captain of the Pine Grove Rollers Wii bowling league . where the team won the Health concepts Family Cup multiple years. As a teen he was the pin boy for Woonsocket bowling alley , this was one of his passions. He is survived by three daughters, Lucille A. Dufresne of Warwick, Nancy E. Laplante of Woonsocket and Suzanne A. Laplante of Warwick; a brother, Robert J. Laplante of Woonsocket; three grandchildren, Bonnie-Marie M Dufresne-Tate , Major Danielle A Dufresne of the USAF, and Philippe L Dufresne Jr ; two great-grandchild, Makenzie and Gracie. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Egidio DiPardo and Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph's Church, Mendon Rd.,Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
