Lawrence R. Castonguay

Lawrence R. "Larry" Castonguay, 73, of Harrisville, RI passed away on August 31, 2017 at the RI Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the loving husband of 43 years to Marie (Rivet) Castonguay. He was born in Hartford, CT a son of the late Lawrence J. & Gertrude (Dion) Castonguay. Larry worked as a power plant engineer for the Zambarano Hospital in Pascoag. After retiring he went back to work for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in Pascoag. He formerly was a Sacred Heart Brother. Larry was a volunteer fireman for 44 years for the Harrisville Fire Department. He was a Communicant and was extremely active for St. Patrick's Church in Harrisville and was well loved and known as "Mr. Fix It". Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael Castonguay and his wife Darleen of Harrisville and Matthew Castonguay and his wife Jessica of Crestwood, KY. His grandchildren include, Augustus "Gus", Sofie, Abraham and Abigal Castonguay, his brother, Pierre Castonguay of CA and his sister, Jacqueline Cabana of FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10am in St. Patrick's Church in Harrisville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-9pm at the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Chapel, 685 Steere Farm Rd., Pascoag. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 45 Harrisville Main St. Harrisville, RI 02830. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland.
