Leona P. (Castonguay) Gagne

Leona P. Gagne, 87, of Woonsocket, RI passed away on December 30, 2017, at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket. She was the loving wife of Nazaire J. Gagne, She was born in Canada, a daughter of the late Euclide & Eva (Holcomb) Castonguay. Leona was a loving homemaker and she was very active in Lincoln politics for many years. During this time she was fondly known as the "Mayor of Albion." She also enjoyed playing bingo. Besides her husband she is survived by her children, Claudette Robinson of Smithfield, Gerard Gagne of Albion, Diane Forshaw of FL, Denis Gagne of North Smithfield and Pamela Adams of Cumberland, 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was the last of 14 children. She was preceded in death by her son Jean Gagne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday Jan. 13th at 10am in St. Ambrose Church, 191 School St., Albion. Burial will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
