Rolande T. (Place) Gagne

Rolande T.  (Place) Gagne, 88, of Pascoag, RI passed away on May 11, 2017, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence surrounded by her loving family.

 She was born in Harrisville, RI, the daughter of the late Harold L. Place & Bertha F. Bryer.

Rolande graduated Burrillville High School in 1946 and worked as a spinner in area textile mills, before becoming a Nursing Aide and working at Moore’s Nursing Home, Zambarano Hospital, and Bayberry Commons. She was awarded Nursing Aide of The Year in 1989.

Rolande was a deeply spirited woman of God, who dedicated her life to her friends and family. She enjoyed quilting, hooking rugs, cross-word puzzles, reading, walking, gardening, coloring and watching her birds.

 She is survived by her 5 daughters, Cheryl Marshall, Rosanne Rivet-Menard and Jeannine Gagne of Burrillville, Sandra Viel of Oxford, MA, and Robyn Gagne of Bozeman, MT.  She leaves her son-in laws Ronald Marshall, Daniel Viel and Peter Gibeau.

Rolande is also survived by her brother, Richard H. Place of Chula Vista, CA, her sister, Joann Huguenin and her brother-in-law, Marcel Huguenin of NC.

She leaves 8 grandchildren, Marlene Fattore, Jill Lapierre, Charles Rivet, Karyn Cruz, Justine Cote, Krista Gibeau, Roslyn Rivet, and Thomas Viel. She also leaves 11 great grandchildren.

Rolande was predeceased by her husband, Armand Z. Gagne, her brother, Jerod Place, her son David Joseph Gagne and her son-in laws Charles Rivet and Craig Menard.

 Calling hours will be held Monday, May 22nd in the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland from 4-7PM. A committal service will be held on Tuesday May, 23rd at 11:00AM in St. Patrick's Cemetery Chapel in Pascoag.
