Ann B. Polacek, 81 of Pascoag, RI passed away on November 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Polacek. A lifelong resident of Pascoag, Ann was born in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of the late William F. & Dr. Veronica (Barrett) Fagan. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen B. Polacek of Pascoag and Kerry A. Dauplaise and her husband Adam of Douglas, MA. She was a loving MiMi to Liem and Lylah Dauplaise, both of Douglas, MA. Ann was a Special Education Teacher for the Town of North Providence School Department for 37 years retiring in 1997. She was a graduate of Burrillville High School. Ann attended Boston College and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Lesley College, Cambridge, MA. Ann was very active in her community throughout her life. She started her community service by volunteering at Zambarano Hospital and was very involved in RI Special Olympics serving as both a Coach and volunteer for many years. She served as a current Commissioner for the Pascoag Utility District. She was very active in Burrillville politics and was a member of the Burrillville Democratic Town Committee. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She will be remembered as a kind, fun loving, generous and caring woman with a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a smile that could light up a room. Ann touched the lives of so many and will truly be missed by her family and friends. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9:00 am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy. Oakland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Joseph's Church in Pascoag. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Pascoag. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00 until 10:30 am.
