Dorothy M. (Mowry) Fortier

Dorothy M. Fortier, 90 of Harrisville, RI passed away November 8, 2018, at the Overlook Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pascoag, RI. She was the wife of the late John Fortier, Sr. Born in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Herman & Florence (Goff) Mowry and stepmother who raised her the late Anna Mowry, Dot worked for the Tupperware Co. and area textiles mills before retiring from Bayberry Commons Nursing Home. She was a past member of the Community Baptist Church Choir, volunteered at the Glendale Methodist Church and she enjoyed square dancing, traveling, cooking Saturday breakfasts for her children and babysitting her "furry grand children". She is survived her children John Fortier, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Pascoag and Paul Fortier and his wife Forrest of Lugoff, SC. She is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Nina Davis and William Mowry. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 1 pm in the Community Baptist Church, Church St. Pascoag. Burial will follow in the Pascoag Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 12-1 pm in the church.
