Fernand R. Richard

Fernand R. Richard, 86, of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Rose Marie (Benoit) Richard for 65 years. He was born in Central Falls, a son of the late Rheal & Lillian (Berger) Richard. Fernand worked for General Motors for 23 years, he also worked for the former Berard's Oil Co, in Central Falls and also delivered chocolate for the former Adamsdale Farms. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during Korea. He is survived by his children, Denise Vachon and her husband Paul, Rita P. Lemieux and her husband Raymond and Pauline Richard, grandchildren, Justin Vachon, Cherie Durand, Stephen Belleville, Jason Richard and Nicole Belleville, Kevin Lemieux, Kara Salinas and Kyle Lemieux. Also his great-grandchildren, Salmane Sokida, Cole Hardy, Jasey and Jaxson Vachon, Rowan, Brianna and Christian Belleville, and Kaitlin St. Laurent. He was preceded in death by his son Roland Richard and his siblings Marcel, Paul, Normand, Robert and Lionel Richard. His funeral will be held Monday, August 19th, at 9:30 AM from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter St., Central Falls. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland. Calling hours will be Sunday, August 18th, from 5-8 PM.
