George J. Guy

George J. Guy, 68, of Harrisville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at RI Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jill (Swenson) Guy, with whom he was happily married for 31 years. Born in Woonsocket, he was son of the late Amedee and Lucille (Gignac) Guy. George was a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and spent many hours devising ways to improve his patients' lives. He was an avid fisherman and USCG Charter Boat Captain of the “Sea Ya!”, from which he shared the adventure of the high seas. He also loved life in the country, from restoring his 1800s farmhouse to exploring ways of self-sufficiency. In addition to his wife he is survived by: three children, Abigail M. Guy, Seth R. Guy and Lance J. Guy; two sisters, Michele Larochelle and Louise Guy; and two grandchildren. Visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, from 4-7, with service at 7. Burial will be private.
