Irene M (Bessette) Balleux

Irene M. (Bessette) Balleux, 76, of Woonsocket, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on July 22, 2019 with her loving family by her side.  Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Blanchet) Balleux and previously married to Julien Bessette for many years.

Irene was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket and worked for Tupperware Co. and  the Wrentham State School  for many years until her retirement.   She enjoyed playing cards, reading books, crocheting and arts and crafts.  However, what gave her the most enjoyment was her family. 

She is the loving mother of Monique Comastra and her husband, Gary, of Woonsocket, Michael Bessette and his wife, Veronica, of Woonsocket, Gisele Bessette and her husband, Kevin, of Pascoag, Arthur Bessette and his wife, Catherine, of Woonsocket, Denise Morissette and her wife, Monique, of Cumberland, Charles Bessette and his wife, Tammy, of Woonsocket and Irene Gagnon and her husband, Michael, of Blackstone.  She also leaves her sister, Diana Cote, of Woonsocket and her cherished  24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Besides her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her brother, Leo Balleux.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 10 AM inside the Egidio DiPardo and Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket.  Visitation will be held Friday, July 26, from 4-7 PM.  Burial will be held privately at a later date
