Paul was a meat manager at Stop & Shop for many years, a Eucharist Minister at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, and a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Providence. He belonged to American Legion Post 20 and the DAV. Paul was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in Underwater Demolitions with Unit 21 and as a Navy Seal with Unit 3 and Unit 10. His passion for his wife, daughters, and grandchildren were unparalleled. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Madeline (Plasse); his two daughters, Karen D. Champagne with her husband David of North Scituate, and Kellie Jean Sood with her husband Rohit of Southbury, CT; eight grandchildren: Garrett, Kerrigan, Connor and Emersyn Champagne; Ian, Aiden, Evan and Avery Sood; plus four brothers and three sisters. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, including his very special niece, Beverly Langelier, who provided the most caring support and strength throughout, along with following family members who were always there for him: sisters-in-law Nancy, Priscilla, Janice, and Gladys and brothers-in-law Donald, Charles, and Antonio. Two sisters preceded him in death. His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 AM from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Slatersville. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 8, from 4-8 PM.
