Mary M. (Mainville) Karmozyn

Mary M. Karmozyn, resident of Glendale, RI passed away on June 27, 2017, at the Hope Hospice Palliative Care RI. She was the loving wife to John M. Karmozyn, Jr. She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Norman H. & Mary Lee (Liest) Mainville and was a lifelong Burrillville resident. Mary was a school teacher at the Austin T. Levy School in Harrisville for 25 years. She served on the School Committee 16 years and was very instrumental in bringing all day kindergarten to the Burrillville School District. She was founder and Board Member of Burrillville Schools Alumni Education Foundation, Board Member of both the RI Association of School Committees and Burrillville Extended Day Care. Mary was also former director & Committee Chair for the Burrillville Lions Club, member of the Phi Beta Kappa-ETA Chapter, NRI Community Services member and former member of both the N. Providence Business & Professional Women's Association and the Nasonville Volunteer Fire Department, Women's Aux. She was also a member of numerous other town educational committees and groups. She loved spending time with her family and grandson, Max, as well as walking on her beloved Juno Beach in Florida. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Tenessa M. Karmozyn and her husband James Morris of Bristol and Tamber Taskonak and her husband Dr. Burak of Fort Lauderdale, FL, grandson, Max Chartier, brothers, John P., Thomas P. and Normand "Chuck" Mainville and her sisters, Christine Cournoyer, Donna Allard and Debra Mainville. Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 29th, at 11am in St. Theresa's Church in Nasonville. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be Friday, July 28th, from 4-7pm in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
