Raymond E. Hopkins

Raymond E. Hopkins, 88, of Burrillville, passed away on December 18, 2018 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket.  Born in the village of Nasonville, he was a lifelong resident of Burrillville.  The loving husband of Madeline (Zifcak) Hopkins, he was the son of the late L. Frank and Ethel (Peckham) Hopkins. 

At the age of twenty three Raymond built his own home. He was a farmer at heart and had dairy cows before he eventually became a contractor/builder, building many many homes. In his later years you could find him gardening, beekeeping, and in his shop woodworking. 

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Madeline; his daughters, Cynthia A. Ewart and her husband Alden, of Salisbury, NH and Lisa M. Barbosa and her husband William of Uxbridge, MA; granddaughters Pamela L. Ewart and Lauren E. Barbosa; great granddaughter Madison R. Ewart and his sister, Beverly Soderlund.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shirley Jean Hopkins; siblings Florence Green and Herbert, Frank, Elmer, Robert and Helen Hopkins.

All services, including interment, will be held privately and are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Highway, Oakland, Rhode Island
