Robert T. Doyle

Robert Trimble Doyle, “Bob”, died peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2019, in Juno Beach, Florida, at the age of 90. He will be buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Pascoag, Rhode Island. Bob was born in Providence, Rhode Island, January 21, 1929; son of William F. and Madaline Doyle. He grew up in Pascoag; graduated from Burrillville High School and the Portsmouth Abbey School - all in Rhode Island. He graduated in the class of 1952 from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara Thomas Doyle. He is survived by his seven children and their families. He had five sons: Michael (Katie), Thomas (Paige), Paul, Robert (Tracy), and William (Marcia); and two daughters: Kathleen, and Nancy. The joy and light of his life were his grandchildren: Bailey (Michael Conlon), Kelly (Matt Pendergast), Alexis, Ellie, Sam, and Anna. Bob and Barbara lived in Greenwich, Connecticut, for 35 years and raised their family there. For 70 years the family has treasured summer visits to Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Bob also had a lifelong love of skiing and spent happy winter days on the slopes with family and friends. Bob had a long career in the hosiery industry, notably as President and owner of Arrowood Mills in New York City. In “retirement” he worked as a licensed realtor in Florida, and volunteered for 10 years at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. He fully retired ten years ago at age 80. Bob treasured family, friends new and old, and lived a life full of laughter and love. His smile, sunny personality and generous heart will be missed by all.
