Albert Noel Vanasse, Jr.
(December 4,1950 - July 25, 2026)
Albert N. Vanasse Jr., a life long resident of Burrillville, passed away peacefully on Saturday
July 25, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
Born on December 4,1950 in Woonsocket, RI he was the son of the Late Albert, Sr. and Rita J. (Beausoleil)
Vanasse. After graduating, he was drafted into the United States Army proudly serving as an infantryman in the Vietnam War. During his service he was wounded in action and subsequently awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat, alongside the Bronze and Silver Star. Though he rarely spoke of the hardships, his profound resilience shaped the rest of his remarkable life.
Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service.

He was a long-time and dedicated member of The VFW post Keegan-Dinagen Post where he enjoyed the friendships he shared.
Albert adored people and had a sympathetic heart for those in need, he cared for those around him with empathy, compassion and humility.
Albert will be dearly missed by many family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife 
Patricia (Doucette) Vannasse of Burrillville of 54 years, a son, Steven (KaSondra) Vanasse of Burrillville and his daughter, Jennifer (Stephen) Wood of North Carolina. He is also survived by his loyal feline companions, George, Fred and Hermione, and a host of loving family members and many dear friends. 

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures including starting each day with a hot coffee from Dunkin.
Albert always had a life long love
for the Island of Aruba, one of the many planned Vanasse family adventures with his loving family. True to his vibrant spirit, Albert loved to live life bright and warm, much like the Aruban sunsets he loved so dearly.
He will be missed beyond measure.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home immediately following calling hours.

A private burial, with Military Honors, will take place in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Albert can be made to the Keegan- Dinagen VFW Post 1023 PO Box 296, Pascoag, RI 02859-0296.
