Antonio "Tony" Carollo Obituary

Antonio “Tony” Carollo, 90, of Harrisville, RI. Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 12, 2021. At Overlook Nursing Home. Tony was the beloved husband of Priscilla (Plasse) Carollo for 31 years. He was born the youngest of four siblings in Providence, RI to the late Filippo and Anna (Cipriano) Carollo. He was preceded in death. By his siblings Frank and Joseph Carollo and Grace. Samuelian.

Tony served his country proudly in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Sears as an electronic technician for many years and was a former police officer for the Warwick Police Department. Upon retiring he was a clerk at Warehouse Liquors and a car transporter in the Northeast, working for Anchor Subaru, His fellow co-workers gave him the nickname “The Pope” because they thought he looked like Pope John Paul II.

Tony enjoyed his family, his grandchildren, his home and traveling. He was a quiet man. But he loved to laugh and always had a good time.

Tony was the cherished stepfather to Barbara Mandeville (Lucien) of North Smithfield, Beverly Langelier (Mark) of Harrisville, Bruce Carlton of St. Petersburg, FL., and Brenda Carlton of Mapleville.

Tony was the devoted Grandfather to Jocelyn, Zachary and Megan Mandeville, Erin, Kerri, and Kara Langelier, Ashley and Karissa Carlton, Jacob Carlton and T.J. Beausoleil. Also, a Great Grandfather to Natalie Dumas.

Tony also leaves behind a niece, 2 nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed… but never forgotten.

A special thank you to the staff at The Lighthouse in Lincoln where he last resided for over two years.
His funeral will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, at 9:30 AM from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd. North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. St. John’s Church 63 Church St. Slatersville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
