Barbara J. Sousa

Barbara Sousa, 84, of Oxford, MA passed away September 23, 2021, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Hardy and Merton Mowry and stepdaughter of Bill Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sousa.

Barbara worked as a Secretary for the RI Department of Human Services for many years.

She is survived by her loving and dedicated daughter, Melanie Sousa, her granddaughter, Kara Sousa, and her great-grandchildren, Deven Levesque, Ryan Sousa and Jonathan Sousa.

Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino's with her daughter, Melanie.

Services are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Highway, Oakland, RI. Burial will take place October 8, 2021, 11:00 AM at Acotes Hill Cemetery, Glocester, RI.
