Camille A. (Marcoux) Connell

Camille A. Connell, 104, of Burrillville, RI passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag. Born in Oakland, RI she was a daughter of the late Auguste and Oringa (Vanasse) Marcoux. She was number 5 of 11 children gifted to them. She was preceded in death by all 10 of her siblings, Solange “Sam” Marcoux, Laure “Salty” Pepler, Jeanne Lawrence, Mathias “Match” Marcoux, Bertrand “McGinty” Marcoux, Cecile Rainey, Laurier “Guy” Marcoux, Albert “Punk” Marcoux, Marguerite “Margo” Robitaille and Jacqueline “Jackie” Auger. She was also preceded by the love of her life, husband of 40 years, James D. Connell of Woonsocket.

Her greatest gift was as a Domestic Engineer (homemaker) and housewife to Jim and all 6 of their children, Gail LeClair, James D. Connell Jr., Susan Quetta, Jeffrey Connell, Cyndee Munroe, and the late John Connell. They had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In her long, wonderful life she believed in volunteerism. She worked with the church as a CCD teacher, rosary and altar society member and Lazarath society member. She sang in three different languages in the chorus, English, French, and Latin. She also assisted with the Girl Scouts and Meals on Wheels. Later on, she would visit the elderly at many local Nursing Homes, including Zambarano Hospital and Overlook Nursing Home.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, RI.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM.

The Funeral will be held on June 7, 2024, at 9:30 AM at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Harrisville on Main St. The burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Pascoag, on Main St.
