Carol A. (Cote) Swanton

Carol A. Swanton, 81, of North Smithfield, passed away on May 9, 2022. She was the devoted wife of the late John L Swanton Sr. They were married on June 7, 1958 and shared 60 years together until his passing in 2018. She was born in Providence RI, daughter of the late Louis and Yvonne (Lapointe) Cote. Carol worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Woonsocket Health & Rehabilitation Center, and she also worked for Stop & Shop at the deli counter for many years prior to retiring in 2017.

Carol had a great love of all animals and cared for many dogs throughout her life. Carol was at her happiest when she was around her family. She was the loving mother of John Swanton Jr. of North Smithfield, Michael Swanton of England, Matthew Swanton of North Smithfield, and the late Patrick Swanton. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zachary, Elijah, Julia, Jeremy, and Nicholas Swanton, her sibling Louis Cote Jr. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Alan Cote.

Calling hours will be held at the Egidio DiPardo & Son’s Funeral Home 75 Harris Ave. Woonsocket on May 25, 2022, from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery Wrentham Rd. Cumberland, RI.
