Charles Menard Obituary

Charles R. Menard, 80, of Burrillville, RI passed away peacefully on December 9, 2022 at the Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. in Pascoag Born in Blackstone, MA he was the son of the late Charles and Rita (Plasse) Menard. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Egan) Menard for 57 years.

Charlie went to Catholic Schools all his life and graduated from St. Mary’s Central Catholic High School in Milford, MA in 1960. He went on to serve in the National Guard between 1962-1966. He worked as a truck driver for the former Mark Stevens Co. that would take him up and down the east coast on a weekly basis. He decided to stay closer to home with his family so took a few jobs with local mills working in their dye house and then later in life, the Harrisville Sunoco Station retiring in 2012.

“Uncle Chuck” as he was known to his many nieces and nephews was a quiet man but had a quick dry sense of humor. In his early years he loved to build model ships, made his own candles for family and friends and had an eye for photography which his family always thought he should have pursued.

He was a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan and was thrilled when the Sox finally won the World Series in 2004 and the Patriots won the Superbowl in 2001. He had a love for all dogs, especially beagles including his late dog,PJ. 

Besides his wife Patricia, he is survived by his children,Colette Loynds and her husband Brian of Mapleville, RI and Marie Breslau and her husband Jason of Chesilhurst, NJ, four grandchildren, Tyler and Jaime Loynds and Dana and Aaron Breslau.

He also leaves behind his siblings, Sylvia Fontaine, Violet Theroux, Lucien Menard, Maurice Menard, and Jeannette Menard. He was preceded in death by his sister, Madelaine Martineau.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield, RI.

Services and burial in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery Burrillville will be private.
