Claudette S. (Rainville) Piette

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Claudette S. Piette, age 77, on March 11, 2025, in Northwood, NH. Claudette was born on November 28, 1947, in Woonsocket, RI to Aimee and Helen (Larouche) Rainville. Claudette was predeceased in death in 2015 by her life partner, Jack H. Ellis.

Together, they shared many wonderful memories, particularly enjoying sailing on Narragansett Bay with the Catalina Club aboard their boat “Baggarags”. She also had a deep passion for reading, completing puzzles and attending events at the Cumberland, RI Chevy Owners Association, and her cherished cat, Sassy, who brought her great comfort and companionship.

Professionally, Claudette’s career spanned many years, and in 1996 she began her career at Bryant University as a temp associate before becoming the Administrative Secretary to the Vice President for University Advancement. Her remarkable institutional memory, unwavering work ethic, and dedication to excellence made her a respected and trusted colleague. Even after her retirement in 2014, Claudette continued to contribute part-time as a Development Associate, where her meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness were invaluable in the preparation of Event Books, news feed monitoring, and proofreading.

Claudette’s kindness, generosity, and exceptional work ethic left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and colleagues.

Claudette is survived by her children: Jennifer Daniels and her partner Chris Otterson of Northwood, NH; Jeffrey D. Piette and his wife Heidi of North Smithfield, RI; two granddaughters, one step-grandson, one great-grandson; and two honorary daughters, Jennifer Rairigh and her husband Randy of Williamsburg, VA, and Crissie Mahar and her husband Josh of North Providence, RI.

She is also survived by her very best friend, James Jolly of Burrillville, RI, whose unwavering support over the last few years was immeasurable.

Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, RI to honor her memory. All are welcome.
