Domenick A. Pizzi, 95, of Blackstone, MA passed away on March 17, 2018, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the loving husband for 66 years to the late Mary (DePardo) Pizzi. Born in Franklin, MA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Carmina (Messere) Pizzi. Domenick was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Blackstone for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and, after his retirement, worked at the New England Country Club as a grounds keeper for 27 years. He was a PFC Army Veteran of WWII serving in Italy and North Africa with F Company, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service and the Purple Heart with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of the VFW #3402 in Franklin, MA. He is survived by his children, son Richard Pizzi and his wife Amy of Marlborough, MA and daughter Barbara DiPardo and her husband Richard of Woonsocket, RI, grandchildren, Elizabeth DiPardo of Waltham, MA, Nicholas DiPardo of Lynn, MA, Melinda Pizzi Bogigian and her husband Michael of Berlin, MA, Dana Pizzi of New York, NY, and Michael Pizzi of Marlborough, MA. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dora Baldassari and Geraldine Cordeiro. His funeral will be held Friday at 10am from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave. in Woonsocket, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Paul’s Church in Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-8pm.
