Elena L. (Conte) Solsberg

Elena Solsberg, 90, of Smithfield, RI passed away in Smithfield on June 7, 2026. She was born in Providence, RI. Elena was the beloved daughter of the late Frances and Natalie (Zanghi) Conte. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. Solsberg, Sr. and the cherished sister of Pauline Roate, Al Conte and the late Louis Conte. She dedicated more than 50 years of her life working as a machine operator for Diamond Paper Box, and Seal paper Box where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Elena enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and had a deep love for sports, bowling, boating, and fishing. She will be laid to rest in Exeter, Rhode Island, beside her late husband Robert. Elena also had a special love for animals, particularly her cats. In her memory, she requested that donations for the care of animals be made to the ASPCA. Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service that will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, at 2 PM at the chapel in RI Veteran’s Cemetery, South County Trail in Exeter. We ask that you arrive at the office parking lot at 1:30PM so we can line up vehicles to proceed to chapel at 1:45PM. Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
