Emily G. (Fortier) Martineau

Emily G. (Fortier) Martineau, 95, of Woonsocket, RI passed away on May 23, 2023 at the Oakland Grove Health Center in Woonsocket. Born in Pascoag, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Matilda (Rivers) Fortier. She was the loving wife of 50 years to the late Gilbert Martineau.

She was originally from Maine, she lived most of her life in Burrillville including Ashton Court in Harrisville. Emily worked for the former Tupperware Corporation in No. Smithfield for 25 years and later worked and retired from Bayberry Commons in Pascoag. Emily was a member of Post 85 of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Suzanne Wood and her husband Ronald, Angie Soderlund and her husband Ronald, Anna C. Martineau and Alice Jacques. Eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.  She also leaves behind her sister Angie Lacey.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cora Bert, Herbert Fortier, John Fortier, Arthur Fortier, Jr. and Elsie Mc Cauley.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 5 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa’s Church, 35 Dion Drive, Harrisville. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
