George L. Surbuts

George L. Surbuts, 97, of Bristol, RI, formerly of Harrisville, RI, passed away on June 13, 2020 at the RI Veterans Home Community Living Center. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Shaw) Surbuts. Born in Providence, a son of the late Zaccheus & Elizabeth (Smith) Surbuts. George was a equipment development technician for the Fenwal Co. in Ashland, MA for 25 years. He lived most of his life in Burrillville. He was a member of the Roger Williams Lodge of Masons in Centerdale for many years. George was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corp. He is survived by his children, Ronald Surbuts and his wife Judith of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Barbara Jamara and her husband Richard of Randolph, MA and Paula O'Hara and her partner Mark Walker of Warwick, RI. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Henry Surbuts, Sarah Gorsline and Marjorie Boeglin. Due to Covid restrictions, services and burial in Fairview Cemetery in Grafton, MA will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to RI Veterans Home Activity Department, 480 Metacom Ave., Bristol, RI 02809. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home ,1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland.
