Jacqueline Claire McKenna, 84, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025. Born on April 26, 1940, in Woonsocket, RI, she was the beloved daughter of Alice and Noe Piette.
On November 23, 1963, Jackie married the love of her life, Arthur McKenna, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. She was predeceased by Arthur and her cherished brother, Norman Piette.
She leaves behind her five children: John McKenna, Thomas McKenna, Charlene McKenna, Paula McKenna, and Caroline Kearns. Jackie and Arthur were proud grandparents to Kasey McKenna, Owen McKenna, Hana Ehiwe, Jonathan Kearns, Evan McKenna, and Megan Ehiwe and great-grandparents to Amelia and Millicent Kearns.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Jackie cherished time with her family above all else. She found joy in gardening, painting, and spending time at the beach. A talented watercolor artist, she was honored with an award from the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.
In 1986, Jackie earned her nursing degree from the Community College of Rhode Island and dedicated over 30 years as an LPN at Woonsocket Health Center, providing compassionate care to her community. She continued her work with unwavering dedication until she retired at the age of 78.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the wake on Thursday, February 20, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Keene-Brown Funeral Home, located at 445 Greenville Rd, North Smithfield, RI.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday February 21st at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs - Holy Trinity Parish in Woonsocket, RI.
