James D. Connell, Jr., 78, of Burrillville, RI passed away peacefully at his home on July 7, 2026. Born in Woonsocket, he was the beloved son of the late James D. Connell, Sr. and Camille ( Marcoux) Connell. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was employed as a textile chemist with Enterprise and later worked for Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. He was a longtime and dedicated member of the Burrillville Men’s Club where he enjoyed the friendships he shared throughout the years. James is survived by his siblings, Gail LeClair, Susan Quetta, Jeffrey Connell and Cyndee Monroe, as well as his many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Connell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday July 20, 2026, from 4 - 7:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 7 pm. Military Honors will be held on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Cemetery Pascoag.
