James L. Manigan, III

James Louis Manigan, III, 82, of Woonsocket, RI, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. James was born on December 31, 1943, in Woonsocket, RI, and was the son of the late James L. Manigan, Jr. and Ruth W. (Belshaw) Manigan.

Private First Class James L. Manigan, III honorably served in the United States Army as a Radio Operator. Following his military service, he worked for General Motors before finishing his career as a custodian with the Woonsocket Education Department, a position he truly enjoyed for more than two decades.

James was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket and a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Rhode Island Food Bank. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling. Above all else, James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family and especially loved visits from his grand-dogs and great-grand-dogs.

James was predeceased by his brother, John J. Manigan and his beloved four-legged companion, Jake.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Rachel Dumas of Woonsocket; his daughters, Kari-Lee Archambault of North Smithfield, Kellylynn Casper and her husband, Robert, of Plainville, MA, Laurie Dumas of Woonsocket, and Erin Dalton and her husband, Daniel, of Foster. He is also survived by the absolute prides and joys of his life — his six grandchildren; Mikayla, Samantha, Noah, Norah, Loralei and Robbie.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 26, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield. Military Honors will be held at 3:30 PM outside the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM by Pastor Sean Amato where services will conclude. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory maybe made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
