Jerry T. Portman, 48, of West Warwick, RI passed away peacefully at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence on December 1, 2025. Born in Woonsocket he was the son of the Late David Portman and Theresa (Maimoni) Portman.
Jerry worked as a chef for several restaurants and also as a cook at a couple of nursing homes. He also lived several years in North Providence as a live in caretaker for the late Walter Fontaine until Walters' passing.
He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, landscaping, painting and he also enjoyed anything in technology.
Jerry leaves behind his siblings, his sister, Jean Salvas, a brother, Robert Portman and his wife Dawn, step brothers, Daniel and Jason Portman. He also leaves behind his nephews, Shawn, Kyle and his wife Diana, Robert, Jr., Travis and his wife Jillian and his nieces, Hanna and Amanda, great-niece’s, Ayla, Nora and great-nephew, Logan.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jerry can be made to the Rhode Island Special Olympics.
