Jessica “Jess” Rowan
December 7th, 1970 - July 27th, 2021
(Written by her daughter)
Jessica Rowan was born to June Rowan and Edward Rowan on December 7th, 1970 in Providence, Rhode Island. She passed away unexpectedly in her family home on July 27th, 2021.
Jess is survived by her Mother June Rowan, her two siblings Edward Rowan and Debbie Wagner, her children whom she adored: Galadriel and Benjamin, her first grandchild, Owen Brogan, and lifelong friends Wendy Medina and Donna Rowan.
Jess was smart, wise, funny, loving, and a little crazy at times, but she had a big heart. She was always there if you needed a ride, a helping hand or a joke after a long day. She could talk for hours about anything you could think of whether it be music, movies, history, religion, or the earth. She could tell you the names of every mountain and lake in New Hampshire or teach you the chords of any song if you asked.
Earlier in her life she worked at Caldor, Ocean State Job Lot, and Lowe’s where she would meet some of her best friends still to this day. She had a passion for the outdoors which included hiking, fishing, geocaching, skiing and much more. Music was also something she incorporated into her life from a young age either writing music, playing an instrument or teaching it to her children. She believed life was precious, she would never hurt a fly, it wasn’t in her nature. She loved her children and her grandchild beyond what words can express.
Her favorite color was black, her favorite instrument was her guitar, her animal was a butterfly, her drink was Coca Cola, her movie was Avatar, her artists were The Beatles and Tori Amos, her food was pasta, her restaurant was Asia Grille, she loved her cat Aisling, horror movies, thunderstorms, snakes, and cooking and being with her kids and she will never be forgotten. Jess wasn’t perfect but she was still an amazing person that was taken to soon. She would want us to hold on to the happy memories, so we will do as she pleases and let her return to the earth.
