Joan A. (Choiniere) Andrade

Joan A. Andrade (Choiniere), 86, of Smithfield, RI passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, at the Heritage Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Smithfield. Born in Oxford, MA she was the daughter of the late Wilfred “Bill” and Emma (Casey) Choiniere. She was the loving wife of the late John J. Andrade, Sr.

Joan worked as a lunch lady for the Woonsocket School System for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed playing scat and other card games with friends. She also found great enjoyment playing her favorite slot machines at the Twin River Casino.

She is survived by her children, John Andrade, Jr. and his wife Beverly of Cumberland, Judy Bourk and her husband Michael of Woonsocket.

Besides her children, Joan is survived by her grandsons, John J. Andrade, III, Brian D. Andrade, Jared M. Bourk and Tyler J. Bourk also two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wilfred, Ronald, Normand, Louis “Tubby”, Leo Choiniere and her sister, Lorraine Saad.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Son’s Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket on September 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Burial in St. Charles Cemetery Blackstone, MA will be private.
