John P. Shaw, 52, of Cumberland, RI, formerly of Burrillville, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 8, 2026. His Christmas card was always the first received each year by his Aunt Carol, a tradition that reflected his thoughtful and caring nature. John is survived by his brother, Donald Shaw of Warwick; many cousins; and several aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kenney and Mr. and Mrs. William Shaw; and by his maternal aunts, Patricia “Pat” (Kenney) DeCosta and Carol (Kenney) Ayles. His funeral will be held Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 9:30 AM from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Harrisville.
