Josephine “Josie” (Makowski) Marcoux

Josephine “Josie” (Makowski) Marcoux, 93, of Pascoag, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2021, at Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag. Born May 1, 1929, in Douglas, MA. She was the daughter of the late John and Alexandria (Sadowski) Makowski.

Josie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing bingo, traveling with her husband to visit grandchildren, and helping others.

Josie is survived by her daughters, Carol (Edward) Jasinowski and Jo-Ann (Thomas Mathews) Quigley. She has five grandchildren, Eric Robinson, Jennifer (Quigley) Marandola, William Quigley, Jill (Jasinowski) Shue and Tyler Marcoux, also 7 great-grandchildren, Alana, Eric, Jr., Celeste, Thomas, Nicholas, Ashlyn, and Colten.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Laurier “Guy” Marcoux who always fondly called her “his bride.” her son, Steven and grandchildren Kevin and Eric, brothers Alex, Joseph and Edward Makowskii and sisters, Jenny Walenty, Sophie Rinfrete, Celia Foley, Alice Trinque, Genevieve Straight and Helen Potter.

Calling hours will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, from 4-7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 9, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, Harrisville. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
