Kathleen A. McKenna, 85, of Woonsocket, passed away on October 24, 2022. Born in Montreal, QC, Canada. She was the daughter of the late Euclide Edward and Emerilda (Decasse) McKenna.
Kathleen was married to the late Andrew Bicki. She is survived by her children, Gisèle Duval and her husband William, Erin Glisson and her husband William, Kathleen Dupuis and her husband William, Roger McKenna, and Andrea Bicki and was predeceased by her son, James. She leaves her grandchildren, Thomas Richer, Sarah Girard and her husband Jeremy, Andrew Pimentel, Daniel Dupuis and his wife Diana, Nicole Leduc and her husband Chris, Alexandrea Guidry and her husband Beau, Charissa Lapierre and her husband Joel, and her great-grandchildren Jacob and Holly Girard, Lily and Jackson Dupuis, Nathan and Grace Leduc, and Zora Guidry. She also leaves Gisèle Farrese McKenna, her dearest friend for over seventy years, who also became her sister-in-law, and who she loved like a sister.
Kathleen was predeceased by her brothers, Kenneth, William, Jeffrey, Raymond and Robert McKenna and her sister, Maureen McKenna. She loved being an aunt to all of their children and grandchildren.
Kathleen was a 1956 graduate of Ste-Domitille Convent in Laval, QC, and worked for Bell Telephone in Montreal before coming to the United States in 1959. She worked for Tupperware and Swissline for many years, but considered raising her family and being a homemaker her most important job. She was talented at sewing and knitting and enjoyed writing, history and science. She was a member of the American-French Genealogical Society and for the last twenty years her great passion was researching her family’s history, discovering living relatives through that research, and bringing alive the stories of those relatives who came before her.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Kathleen’s Life Celebration, that begins with visiting hours on Tuesday, November 1, from 4-6 PM and continuing on Wednesday, November 2, at 10 AM, in the Egidio DiPardo Funeral Home, 75 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM at St. John The Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, 501 East School Street, Woonsocket, with burial to follow at the Parish Cemetery on Mendon Road, Woonsocket.
