Kenneth Minot, Jr. Obituary

Kenneth Allen Minot, Jr., of Cumberland, RI passed away on Saturday, April 8th, 2023. Kenneth was born on July 16, 1981, a son of Martha Viens and Kenneth Minot, Sr. in Woonsocket, RI. He moved to Cumberland as a child and has been a resident ever since.

Kenneth attended Cumberland High School and went on to graduate from Bay State Tech in Canton, MA with a degree in Major Appliances and Electricity. In 2017, after working in the industry for over a decade, Kenneth founded KamCan Appliance Repair. He provided services to the surrounding communities and continued to work throughout the pandemic.

In 2016, Kenneth married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Wilcox of Cumberland, RI. They have two children, Jacob and Devin Minot, his mother, Martha Viens, father, Kenneth A. Minot, Sr. and Carol, siblings, Jessica and Joshua Minot, Leah  Diouf  and many nieces and nephews. Also, their dog, Chloe is also a cherished member of the family.

Kenneth was a self-taught chef and always elevated holiday meals with his Turduckin, Hibachi, and Filet. He was also an avid fisherman, an activity he enjoyed sharing with his brother Josh. Kenneth was known for his over-the-top fishing outfits and could be seen all over the state casting his line looking to catch the “big one”.

While he loved, music, cooking, fishing, and his Evony Alliance, Kenneth’s biggest passion in life was his family. He was a loving father of Jacob and Devin and whether on the soccer field or in the young men they were becoming, the pride he had in his sons and their accomplishments was evident daily. He taught them to be both strong and compassionate.

Kenneth was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Theresa Yuzcazk and his paternal grandparents, Arthur Minot and Lorraine (Tancrede) Hervoux.

Anyone who knew Kenneth knew that he was a special soul. He had immense passion for life and was always a positive source in whatever he was involved in. Kenneth lived life to the fullest and wouldn’t hesitate striking up a conversation with a stranger. He was a generous man who would give anyone the shirt off his back if they were in need. His family and friends will miss him more than words can express.
