Lonnie Jackson, Jr., 73 ,of Woonsocket, known to many as “Action Jackson” passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was a son of the late Bishop Lee and Aretha (Walker) Jackson. He was blessed to have the late Dorothy Ann Jackson and Candy Ann Shephard as lifelong support spouse and mothers to his greatest accomplishment, his children.
Lonnie was the proud loving father of Linda Manga, Glory Hardin (Jason), Annie Jackson, Aretha Jackson, Bonnie Jackson, Vonny Jackson (Jihad), Lonnie Jackson III (Crystal), Lonnie Junior Jackson (Cathy), Florence Jessica Jackson (Randy), Javon Beauregard, the late Richard Jamie Jarrie and many Stepchildren.
He is survived by his best friend and brother from another mother, Kevin Meehan as well as a host of other siblings, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the Godfather to the late Adam Castonguay.
He was a Veteran of the Army Nation Guard.
He was the owner of Jackson’s Scrap Metal for over 50 years. His slogan was “You call we haul, if we can’t truck it, f*** it. Cool Lips Jackson.
On the rare occasion that he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, playing pool and gambling. If you knew him you knew he was a hardworking man of amazing strength, with a fun-loving personality, a contagious laugh and he loved the ladies.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 5-8:00 PM at the Egidio DiPardo & Son’s Funeral Home ,75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket. A Gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the funeral home from 11:00 to 12::00 PM. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield.
