Lucille E. Gariepy, 86, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 1, 1939, in Woonsocket, RI, Lucille lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and deep devotion to those she loved. She was the daughter of the late Lionel and Herminnie (Gravel) Gariepy. She was the sister of Lillian (Harry) Keyser, Eugene (Irene) Gariepy, Gloria (Charlie) Caron, Vivian Cavanaugh, and Lionel (Christine) Gariepy, Jr.; she was also the sister of the late Conrad (Noelia) Gariepy, Theresa (Roger) Carriere, Lorraine (Rosaire) Fontaine, and Armand (Carolyn) Gariepy, Sr. As a teenager and young adult, Lucille was an avid roller skater. She had a lifelong love of the beach and traveling, and over the decades made many cherished trips to California, Georgia, and Arizona to visit with family. Lucille was proud of her long career as a talented seamstress at Stalens Sports Systems, Inc., where she worked until her retirement. Over the past decade, Lucille lived with her beloved son, David, and his caring husband, Rob. Lucille is survived by her children, Donald Boucher and his wife, Sharon; Valerie Boucher; David Saleme and his husband, Roberto, Cindy Hopkins and her husband David and Henry Gariepy and his wife, Erica. She also leaves behind her son-in-law, Edwin Wasmuth, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Michele Wasmuth. She was a warm, kind, dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A private memorial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital to honor the memory of Lucille Gariepy.
