Marcel E Theroux, 84 years old, passed away peacefully with his son by his side on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Marcel is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Florence (Kulik), his son, Marc and his wife Tina of Grafton, MA, and the apples of his eyes, “his girls”, his 3 granddaughters, Taylor, Melanie, and Brooke all from Grafton, MA. He is also survived by his sisters, Jeanine Johnson and her husband John, Lorraine Bourque and her husband Richard, brother-in-law Sandy Foster, brother in law and sister in law Robert and June Kulik as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Marcel is predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Rosa (Durand) Theroux, as well as his sister Pauline Foster.
Marcel was very active in Boy Scouts all of his life; he was the founder and Scoutmaster of Troop 1139 in Slatersville. He took this responsibility seriously as he led his troop hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He is also a past president of Pop Warner Football in Slatersville. He is a Veteran of the US Navy and subsequently a Teamster, driving for both Theroux Brothers Trucking and B & W Express of Woonsocket, and an active communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Slatersville.
Anyone who knew Marcel knew he was kind beyond compare and exemplified being “a good man." He was always all about family and wouldn’t miss any family event. He would be seen at any of his granddaughters’ events proudly watching, no matter how trivial the event; he would never miss a family holiday celebration and he took genuine pleasure in just being surrounded by those he loved. His sign off to every telephone call with his son was always, “Give all of your girls a kiss for me.”
