Nicholas Martins Obituary

Nicholas G. Martins, Sr., 32, of Mapleville, RI passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024 in the loving comfort of his wife. Born July 8, 1992, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he is the son of Dean & Christina Martins and Kimberly & Mike Glynn, and loving husband to Brittany (Hebert) Martins. After his birth, Nicholas lived a short period of time in Cambridge, Ma, and then moved to Boston where he spent his childhood growing up with his family and many friends. He attended Boston Public schools and joined the ROTC program in middle school. Nick continued to stay in shape playing football in high school, which he truly enjoyed, both for the friends he spent time with and for the love of the game. He spent a lot of time with his friends in and out of school. When summertime came he spent many of his vacations in Wareham, MA with his family. Ever since he was a baby, Nick enjoyed the water at his Papa Mike's home in Wareham. Nick hoped to one day share his love of the cape with his sons, in the same place he loved to swim and fish as a young boy. Fast forward to the post pandemic living, Nick spent his last few years of life in Burrillville, Rhode Island.

Nicholas and Brittany shared their first conversations, through Facebook Dating, February 13, 2020, just a month before the Covid-19 pandemic. The extra free time with the world on lock down, gave them plenty of time to get to know each other rather quickly. Nicholas told his wife later on that he knew he wanted to know more about her after their first date and knew she was the woman he wanted to marry after a night out on the town and some story about chicken wings...  They were married May 21, 2022 and shortly after that, they started their family.
Nick knew he wanted to better himself, for his wife to be and future family they would create. Nick worked hard over the last few years, growing and advancing from job to job, gaining new skills, in pursuit of his Commercial Drivers License. After receiving his CDL and many tiring and grueling jobs, Nick was offered a job at RIDOT. Nick was over the moon when he received the email with his acceptance offer. He immediately called his wife and they both shed tears over the phone, both extremely proud of his hard work and dedication to himself and his family.
Nick was a hard worker and always made sure his family did not want or worry. He was a loving husband and wonderful provider, giving his wife the opportunity to be a stay at home mom, and he was a devoted father. Nick, Jr was absolutely the light of Nicholas' eye. The amount of love he had for his son was evident ever time they were in the room together. Even more so when they were playing together.

Nicholas leaves behind his wife, Brittany (29), his son, Nicholas, Jr. (21 mo) and newborn son, Oliver (1 mo), whom Nicholas only had the blessing of meeting once before his passing. Nicholas also leaves behind his parents, Dean, Kimberly and Mike, also siblings, Samantha, Zachary, Eileen, Alex, Leo and Christopher along with cousins, aunts & uncles, many good friends and beloved dogs, Gus and Chickie.

Believe it or not, Nick has more clothes than his wife! He was a lover of Disney, Marvel, Si-fi, Horror, tv & movies, music and humor (especially dark). If you are in attendance of his wake please wear your favorite graphic t-shirt and join us for a Masonic ceremony in honor of Nick's journey through Masonry. This will take place the last 45 minutes of the calling hours.
