Omer Lionel Legare, 85, of North Smithfield, RI passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Omer Legare, Sr. and Florence (Guerard) Legare. He was the beloved husband of Estelle Legare, with whom he shared 66 devoted years of marriage. Omer dedicated many years of service to CVS, where he worked as a Regional Manager prior to his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, he also enjoyed collecting treasured collectibles as a hobby. In addition to his loving wife, Estelle, he is survived by his son, James Legare of North Smithfield; his brother, Roland Legare and his wife Elizabeth, his sister, Lorraine Evans and a brother-in-law, Roland Racine. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Paul Legare who passed in May of 2025. Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. John’s Church, Church Street, NS. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
