Patricia "Patty" (Carlson) Baker

Patricia (Patty) Carlson Baker, age 57, of Forestdale, RI passed away on Tuesday June 4, 2024. Patty was born on November 14, 1966, in West Lafayette, Indiana. She later lived in Virginia,
Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and settled in Rhode Island.

Patty is survived by her son Dakota, mother Nancy Carlson and her husband Douglass Dixon, father Richard Carlson and his wife Pam Carlson, sister Marsha and her husband Joe, brother Michael, stepsister Tonya and her nieces and nephews Joe Jr., Justin, Jax, Nanda, Jaeden, Kai and Kaelyn. Patty was known for her bright smile. She loved to have fun and make others laugh.

She had a gift of silliness that was unique to her, and others couldn’t help but laugh until their sides hurt. She loved going to concerts and made a point to travel to California every year to attend Ohana Fest and see her favorite musician Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. Patty was an avid sports fan and loved the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Bruins. She also enjoyed gardening and her dogs Harley and Vedder.

She had a love for life, having fun, laughter, music and bringing joy to others. She was a kind, giving, caring person that devoted her life to the care of others through her nursing career. After graduating from Needham High School, Patty attended the PT program at Boston University from 1985 – 1986. She later transferred to Community College of Rhode Island where she
graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing and an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. Patty dedicated the majority of her nursing career to Home Care and worked at CharterCare Home Health.

Patty leaves behind many friends and co-workers that loved her dearly. She will be sorely missed leaving those who loved her with a void that Patty had filled with so much laughter and fun.

When you see a butterfly, daffodils, the color turquois, or hear a Pearl Jam song think fondly of Patty and remember those were some of her favorite things.
