Richard G. Acciardo, 57, of North Smithfield, RI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Providence, he was the son of Richard and Ann Marie (Celio) Acciardo. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (Riendeau) Acciardo for 23 years.
He worked beside his father for almost forty years at Dial Battery, a family-owned business. When it closed, he worked for Color Systems, who utilized his knowledge of car parts and paints. He worked as a chauffeur part-time for a variety of companies. He also worked part-time at the Barnsider's Mile & A Quarter In Providence, where he met his loving wife, and both were part of until it closed in 2008. When he was not working, he enjoyed being around family and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife, he is also survived by his son, Nicholas A. Acciardo, his brother, David S. Acciardo and his wife Sharon and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene- Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 5 – 8:00 PM in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine’s Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence, RI., Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, 72 Church St., Cranston, RI.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Richard can be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
