Richard "Dicky" Griffin Obituary

Richard “Dicky” S. Griffin, 69, of Woonsocket, RI passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence on July 12,2025. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late John and Pauline (Marcotte) Griffin.

Richard worked in the construction business for many years as a roofer for the Roofing Concepts and Eagle Cornice companies.

He had a love for nature and was a true outdoorsman. When his health would allow, he enjoyed art and had a passion for painting. He also loved Halloween and was known to be a “Bud” enthusiast.  He was a long-standing member of the Saint Stanislaus Mutual Aid Society.

Richard is survived by his children, Scott and Crissy Griffin and his two grandchildren, whom he adored, Acacia and Avery Griffin.

He also leaves behind a long-time companion, Susan Curtis and his sister, Eileen Prusak.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years Claudette (Richer) Griffin and his siblings, John and Kevin Griffin and Donna Richer.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM in the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the American Legion Fairmount Post 85. 870 River St., Woonsocket from 12:00 PM-3:00 PM
