Robert W. Guertin, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023, at the Crystal Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center in Pascoag. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late William and Rhea (Lavallee) Guertin. He was the loving husband of the late Deanna (Allard) Guertin.
He worked for several companies as an accountant, notably the Cott Soda Company for 27 years. After retiring from accounting, Robert worked with Deanna in their own business, Little Rest Farms Crafts, until Deanna’s health failed in 2002.
He was a graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy where he played on the hockey team. He also attended the University of Rhode Island and Johnson and Wales School of Business, graduating with a bachelor’s degree.
He was a lifelong collector of antiques, and he took great pride in maintaining the historic charm of his 1830’s home. He loved to work with and vacation with Deanna. He enjoyed his family and friends and was well known by many in his community for the walks with his beloved dog Sadie, with a regularity you could set your watch by.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert W. Guertin, Jr. and Timothy J. Guertin. Robert was greatly loved by his son Rob’s wife, Fatima, and Tim’s wife, Jennifer. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Remy, and Jolie Guertin. Robert’s family recently expanded by two with twin great-grandchildren, Deanna and Oliver Guertin.
