Robert A Young

Robert A. Young, 88, of Woonsocket, RI passed away peacefully at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Providence with family by his side on February 17, 2025. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond and Emeliane (Gamache) Young. He was the loving husband of 56 years to Jeannette (Boulay) Young,

He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as an executive vice president of Fleet Bank where he worked for 37 years. He was an East Woonsocket little league coach and coached the St. Joseph’s CYO baseball. He was an avid golfer and Yankee’s fan. 

Robert was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Besides his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by his two daughters, Jill McCarthy (Jason Ferriere) and Donna Hart (Brian), also four grandchildren, Sean and Morgan Hart and Collin and Brady McCarthy. He also leaves behind his brother Raymond Young; and his beloved pets Shannon and Duffy.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Young.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road., North Smithfield.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 21, 2024, from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 8:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 261 W. Wrentham Rd., Cumberland.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Shriners Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
