Roger Langelier Obituary

Roger Arthur Langelier, passed on peacefully June 7, 2022, at the age of 93.  He was born December 28, 1928 and was the son of Henry and Alice Langelier.  Roger was a lifelong resident of North Smithfield and was married to Virginia (Coleman) Langelier for 62 years.

The couple have four children, Christine, Mark, Michael, and Gregory Langelier.  He is also the grandfather of Natasha, Avary, Nicholas, Theresa, Erin, Kerri, and Kara. He is the great-grandfather of Natalie and a child still within her mother's womb.

He had five siblings who are now deceased, Norman, Doris, Constance, Helen and Janet.

He has two daughters-in-law, Beverly, Julie and a son-in-law, Michael.

He was a commercial painter for over 60 years. Roger was a member of our country's "Greatest Generation."  A child of the Depression, his loving parents made sure that their children's needs were met in that desperate time. This is when Roger developed his deep love of God, Family and Country.  Later, during the outbreak of World War 11, Roger heroically enlisted in the Navy as a 16-year-old teenager to fight Hitler's tyranny.

Roger had a wonderful group of lifelong friends. Al, John, Jack, Skippy, Jim, and Joe formed this tight knit circle of friendship that lasted for over 70 years.  All have since passed on. Roger was the last of this loving group of men.

Roger married his soul mate, Virginia on October 15, 1960 and over the next 62 years they raised and nurtured their 4 children. The journey was not always easy, but it was always filled with love.

.Roger was a devout member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for the past 3 decades. His faith in God made him into the wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, in-law, and friend that he will always be remembered for. He has now passed onto his loving Creator.

Arrangements are entrusted to Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held June 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
