Roger Y. Sweeney, Jr.

Roger Y. Sweeney, Jr., passed away on October 5, 2024, in his home in Pascoag, RI at the age of 67. He was born in 1956 in Woonsocket, to parents Roger Sweeney Sr. and Barbara Simoneau (Bennett). 

Roger worked as a heavy machinery operating engineer in the construction field for many years. He began working for the Forte Brothers and proudly finished his career working for the Cardi Corporation. He took immense pride in his profession and every job he worked. 

Roger was an avid motorcycle rider and could be found on many weekends riding his beloved Harley Davidson. He enjoyed being a part of the community at the local Elks Lodge and the American Legion. 

He is survived by his children, Roger Sweeney, III and his wife Barbie, Mark Sweeney and his wife Gina, Brandon Sweeney and his wife Jessica, and his daughter Lyndsey Larson (Sweeney) and her husband Andrew.

He was the proud grandfather of his six grandchildren, Cody, Devon, Alyssa, Skyla, Ryder, and Ava.

He also leaves behind his siblings, Norma Davies, Judy Berard, Deborah Spellman, Michael, David & James Sweeney, Karen Bertone, Darlene Donohue, and Renee Falcioni, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Sweeney, Sr. and his siblings, Joanne Bouchard, Stephen and Bryan Sweeney.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. RI.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home.  Funeral Service and Burial will be held privately.
