Susan Louise Cookson, 62, of Greenville, RI passed away unexpectedly on March 5, 2021 in her home. Born in Framingham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. Dutcher and Wilma E. Fairbrother.
Susan touched countless lives throughout the years. Spending many years running a professional daycare before continuing as a personal nanny, she loved and nurtured children, teaching them valuable life lessons to be carried with them throughout their years.
Susan was incredibly loving and was loved back by many— She was the longtime companion of Michael Roberto, of Greenville.
She was the proud mother of Brian P. Cookson and his wife Anete, of Dunstable, MA where she is survived by her two grandchildren, Neko and Wade Cookson.
Susan was the sister of Donald Dutcher, David Dutcher, Stephen Dutcher, Nancy Jolly, and Linda Therien as well as her late siblings Douglas Fairbrother, Kenneth Fairbrother, Raymond Fairbrother, and Kathleen Leigh. She also leaves behind her loving goddaughter Hannah Guarino.
Susan had an affinity for the arts, channeling it into personal projects with crafting, knitting, and embroidering. She often gifted these creations to her friends for no special reason beyond the simple joys of sharing with loved ones. She also maintained a beautiful garden where she loved hosting friends and entertaining guests. She was a talented chef and baker as well, always making desserts for loved ones to enjoy and perhaps most famous for her Peanut Butter Balls, Cinnamon Breads, and “Brian’s Favorite” Summer Sausage with Jelly.
